May flies. It's only April. And they are mating on my wall. And then one tried to fly into my ear. AHH!
It's April as I said. I haven't been here in a while. I'm sure a bit has happened. I can't remember most of it at this point.
Here is an update:
- Maddie the Old English Sheep Dog is really cute when she stands in front of the fan and her hair blows everywhere. She could be America's Next Top Model.
- Speaking of Bravo, Project Runway is moving to Lifetime. WTF?
- Wrangler of the Heart Worms, is not tolerating his treatment well and will have to be put to sleep.
- Maddie, the aforementioned, has a tumor that is getting larger.
- The backyard is weed free and has lots of dirt in it. Tommorrow we are planting veggies in the garden.
- The front yard has grass! And plants of all sorts. It's looking good.
- I did have the *flu* badly.
- Sarah has is now.
- Pam had it in the middle.
- Round two anyone?
Eddie Izzard will be coming to San Fran, and I can't find freaking tickets anywhere!
Blashphemous should ber coming to Fresno IMHO.
Black cats with little pink tongues are really cute. Even when they try to swipe you from the top of the fridge. Or are stuck on the roof.
The Destination Imagination competition went well. Then kids did very well. Way to go VASA Blooming Flyers!
We are going to take the dogs to the beach and do Safari West later this spring for our Bday's.
Oh and the biggest thing of all. My sister was down from Alaska for a week. I almost forgot about that! Don't tell.
Well its been loads of fun updating. I'm off for a few days so why waste it awake? I'm going to sleep. Night.
I used to make Vox posts. Then came life. And Vox, well I forgot about you a bit. And of course the was lack of internet access and the 12 hour shifts at the hospital and the 12 + hour shifts working on the house. Here I am. Tired and all.
I just wanted to say Hi! and to look forward to more updates from me. Maybe...
I have gotten over three inquiries on where I got the Spanish Alphabet song from. It's the oddest thing, how is it coming to everyone attention? It is a great song of course for kids and adults alike as well as the entire CD. It can be found here: Spanish Kids Songs. I found it at a local teaching store but it appears to be cheaper on Amazon.
In other news, its been over a month since I've made a real post. I was about to start my first day of work I believe. Well I have been working now for almost 6 weeks. I've quite proficient at my job and am doing well in orientation. I enjoy the floor I'm working on as well. The people are pretty cool, the diseases are intruiging and contagious :( I am house sitting at the moment on the opposite side of town for 2 1/2 weeks. I take NCLEX tomorrow. That will either give me a nursing license or cause me to lose my job. I think though I'll be able to sign my name with RN after it.
Sarah and I are renting a house near Siobhan's school. We sign the lease tomorrow after NCLEX. It needs a lots of paint and some minor work but should be pretty cool.
I am pilfering internet currently and should get off it now so that I may continue to study.
Brief update, I hope to have something more substantial in the future.
While I'm sure that neither myself, Snape's Girl nor Denial drink Heineken it is quite the fun dance. Recognize the random black man? Yeah, me neither. I think its one of the default pics they choose when you only upload three faces. I was going to add Blashphemous but I didn't think she'd appreciate dancing the beer dance.
I added a song called Lydia the Tattooed Lady to my favorite Pandora station. It has yet to have its turn playing but has completly changed the layout of my station. Lots of old cool jazz is showing up. So no complaints here. :)
I just finished my nutritious breakfast of yummy Kashi cereal. I need some orange juice which you'll never find in a house filled with diabetics. Though I think my grandpa keeps a little bottle around in case of hypoglycemia. I wonder where it is....hmmm.
I start my first day of nursing on the unit today. I don't know how "nurse-y" it will be because I still need to orient to the unit and the computer system. But hey its a start. I'm all but ready except I'm not in scrubs yet. And I'm in a fair amount of knee pain already. So I'm off to icy hot and brace my limbs. I might even stuff down some fish oil and glucosamine beside the iboprophen. Yucky.
ANd I think I'll have a nice cup of tea before I leave to relax, that sounds quite nice.
Wish me luck and pray I don't do anything ghastly.
I've had a pretty cool day. I had my first day of work. And while it was only a corporate orientation, code word for "boring stuff we have to cover" I still got paid. And fed. Which is of the upmost importance. I also have something similar tomorrow and then Wednesday I will have my first day on the floor doing some checksheet things that have to be taken care of. Oh, and I should get my TB shot then as well.
I finished complaining to my grandparents about the incompetence of PearsonVue and the CBRN and just checked my email where I finally recieved my ATT. So I am scheduled to take my NCLEX exam on Friday, September 21st at 9am. I figure that gives me enough time to get used to work and school and a week or so to review before the exam.
All kinds of life altering things happened today it seems. I feel like I'm just laying back and going for a slow groovy ride to the femme folk rooted music I'm listening to on my Pandora station. I have only a couple of things to deal with for Fresno state and then I should be good to go for classes as well. Lots of the fun and new. Change is awesome, especially when it involves finally having a career and an income. I'm not sure which excites me more. Okay, I do know.
Erin is back on Saturday which means Alias, Becoming Jane and Shakespeare in Hollywood are about to show up in a fun packed weekend.
Oh, some fun facts about my new employer. My health insurance options aren't good. Not really at all. But they will have to suffice as they are greatly improved over my lack of insurance now. The company does pay you to be enrolled in Weight Watchers. You get paid $2 for every meeting and $2 for every pound you lose. Cool, eh? Good incentive is what that is. Hmm, other things. I can sign up for a 403B. I need to consider that. I have a neat little name tag and I can wear any kind of scrubs I want except black or camo.
I can't think of anything else. Maybe I'll watch a favorite movie tonight as I review renal meds and pathophys.
I had really wanted to make a post tonight. However, I've run out of time. Something sticky attacked my cell phone and that took a good deal of time to handle. I am now off to bed 1 minute past 10. I have work orientation tomorrow so I need to be well rested. I will later make a post worth reading. Until then. And below for your sweet dream guarentee. :)
IMHO?What is that supposed to mean? read more
on Vox I'm back!
